Answer from Shekar Dattatri, Conservation India:
If you would like a career in wildlife conservation, you should ideally have a Master’s degree in wildlife or conservation biology. Such courses are offered by Wildlife Institute of India, Dehra Dun, Salim Ali School of Ecology, Pondicherry and National Centre for Biological Sciences, Bangalore. If it is not possible for you to acquire a Master’s Degree, you can try for a position with NGOs such as World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), New Delhi, Wildlife Trust of India, New Delhi or Wildlife SOS, as they may have opportunities for someone with a veterinary diploma.
