The Student Conference on Conservation Science (SCCS) – Bangalore brings together young researchers in the science and practice of biodiversity conservation. The conference facilitates interaction, encourages exchange of research ideas and methods, sharing of knowledge and experience related to conserving wildlife and helps build contacts and capacity. As a sister conference to SCCS-Cambridge, SCCS-Bangalore focuses on attracting student participants, primarily from countries in South and South-east Asia and Africa. The 2014 conference will be held at the JN Tata Auditorium, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, from 25th to 28th September 2014.

SCCS-Bangalore 2014 is a four-day conference (25th to 28th September 2014) with the first day including at least 10 long workshops (0930 am to 1630 pm), an interactive session over a book reading followed by the 3rd Ravi Sankaran Memorial Lecture. The following three days of the conference (26th-28th Sep’14) will include six plenary talks, 16 student talks and about 80 posters. We have about 30 short workshops lined up this year with some of them being completely new. We will also have extended Who’s Who in Conservation sessions to learn about the work done by a diversity of academic institutions and conservation organisations, and to discover the work and research opportunities they offer.

Please note that all the evening plenaries are open to public and all are welcome to attend.
